AUSTRALIAN ETHICAL INVESTMENTS
Australian Ethical Investment Ltd operates independently to provide investors with the opportunity to make environmentally and socially responsible investments. At its core, the company believes in improving the ethics of the Australian corporate landscape by promoting ecologically sustainable and socially just projects, Australian Ethical has worked to develop a strong voice in the industry through the pooling of investor savings and currently manages five public unit trusts.
Having commenced operations in 1986 in Canberra as a private ethical trust, it opened for public subscription in 1989 and was listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2002. In addition, Australian Ethical Superannuation Pty Ltd began in November 1998 as a Trustee for accumulation and pension superannuation strategies.
Australian Ethical’s commitment to its fundamental values is reflected in the investments it selects. All investments are chosen using the Australian Ethical Charter, a body that provides investment support to environmentally friendly activities such as recycling, conservation, energy efficiency, preservation of endangered species, animal welfare and workplace relations. Furthermore, Australian Ethical has pledged to donate 10% of annual profits to non-profit, charity, benevolent and conservation organisations.
